Day 43, Friday, 5 July, Coshocton to Smithfield

The mountains send us it's greeting card today. Joe made us a great breakfast and Louis, Garrett, and I headed east. We again encountered intermittent rain and mist for most of the day. In short order we started riding up and down "rollers". As the day progressed the climbs increased in intensity. The scenery reminded me of the hills and valleys in Virginia.

Keeping with Garrett led us slightly off course. He said and thought that we was speaking in Bloomingdale, a small town on our route. His talk and host was actually slightly south and east of Bloomingdale.

The happy consequence of our diversion was that his host again invited us to stay and fed us dinner. We spent the night in a house on a beautiful, peaceful farm. We also had the opportunity to hear Garrett speak to the congregation of a Baptist church. The highlight was a late-night Kareko session with David, our host.

We rode about 70 miles.
