Meriwether Palmer, my sister, for traveling many miles to visit and camp with us, for bringing lunch, dinner, and snacks for us to carry, and for her enthusiastic encouragement.

The mechanics at Sonny’s Bike Shop in Scottsbluff for good repairs and advice about tubes.

James and Billie Taylor for giving us a ride to the camp at Lake Johnson.

Ann and Rick Ramsey for hospitality, good food, a great tour of Kansas City and the art museum. Ann checked regularly to verify that we were safe and sound.

Jack Randolph for sharing his time and apartment with us.
